Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area

Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve welcomes over 305 species of birds, including the Great Snow Goose during the migration period. It also provides visitors with an interpretation centre and its many activities, as well as more than 20 km of hiking trails. Thanks to the convergence of the River, plains and mountains Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area is a place of outstanding beauty and it offers countless opportunities for observing nature in complete safety. The area is recognized as a wetland of international importance under the RAMSAR Convention and is famous for the breathtaking spectacle offered by the tens of thousands of Snow Geese that stop over every spring and fall. The site’s biodiversity is extensive: more than 300 species of birds and several mammal species can be seen here. An interpretation centre, a network of hiking trails and interpretation activities for the whole family make Cap Tourmente an ideal natural setting to flirt with wildlife, all this less than an hour’s drive from Quebec City.
